Project Description
Client: Decathlon UK
Location: Surrey Quays
Project Light is a mixed-use development at Canada Water in Southwark, aimed at delivering a new style town Centre, with homes and a range of commercial and community outlets across a seven-acre site. French sports retailer Decathlon awarded 7formation the contract to deliver their 100,000sq ft retail space and offices as the client’s new flagship London store.
The retail space over two floors would require the installation of lifts and escalators. The store that would house equipment for over 70 sports also included state-of-the-art interactive golf simulators, a mini badminton court, and bike testing stations. Situated on the first floor 7formation carried out a full fit-out of works to develop the companies open plan office space. Structural walls were removed, a raised mezzanine area was built.
A 500m2 Jumbo wall was installed to segregate the office and retail areas. Specialist screeds were laid in readiness for the bespoke floor finishes. The works would also include the installation of a staff kitchen/leisure space along with glass meeting rooms. Suspended ceilings were installed throughout the first-floor office space. Toilet areas received ceramic tiles to walls and floors along with bespoke vanity units and cubicles.
7formation was responsible for coordinating the Electrical, Mechanical AC, and IT installations in both the retail and office areas. Flooring, decoration and an extensive signage installation completed the works. In addition to the main works, 7formation also developed bespoke Yoga and MUGA areas. The works were completed within a 14-week programme.
