Project Description

Client: Greyhound Retail Park / Henry Riley
Location: Chester
Duration: 12 weeks

Acting as principal contractor 7formation has recently completed a major re-development project at the Greyhound Retail Park in Chester. Working closely with Property and Construction Consultants Henry Riley and Architects Urban Edge, 7formation was responsible for the re-configuration of three front elevation shop entrances with the added pressure of maintaining a safe trading environment throughout the twelve-week programme. The works would include the removal of the existing glass portals forming the entrance canopy and extensive structural alterations to the front elevation steel frames and roofs. A bespoke scaffolding and advertising hoarding were erected externally to provide a safe working area, whilst internally a protected walkway and full height front elevation hoarding was installed to provide the customers with a safe and presentable shopping experience. Communication on projects like these is paramount in maintaining a safe working environment. The site manager held daily
meetings with the store managers, providing them with an update on the works planned for the day to minimize the impact on the store trading. Along with the new glass façade, the external cladding was replaced providing a complete transformation and a new modern shopping experience. Alongside these external works 7formation also completed a phased internal refurbishment of both the DFS and Sofology stores for the respective clients.
