7formation is proud to have been appointed to deliver a major two-phase project at Scunthorpe General Hospital, supporting the NHS with the development of a brand-new energy centre as part of a wider energy upgrade across its estate. This project marks an exciting opportunity to contribute to the long-term resilience and sustainability of the hospital, while further strengthening our relationship with the NHS Trust.

The scheme will be delivered as a full design and build by 7formation, with our team overseeing every aspect from concept through to completion. Phase one focuses on the construction of the new energy centre building itself, laying the foundations for a modern, efficient facility that will serve the hospital for years to come. Once the structure is complete, phase two will see extensive mechanical and electrical works carried out to install new boiler systems and associated infrastructure, ensuring the energy centre can power the hospital safely, reliably and sustainably. The programme will run over 34 weeks, and our teams have already broken ground on site, marking the start of this exciting journey.

Because the hospital will remain fully operational throughout the works, meticulous planning has gone into sequencing the programme to minimise disruption to staff, patients and visitors. Working in a live healthcare environment demands the highest standards of health and safety, clear communication, and careful coordination, and our experienced team is fully committed to delivering the project seamlessly and safely.

As with all our projects, social value is central to our approach. We are prioritising local labour throughout the scheme, ensuring the economic benefit of this work stays within the region, and we are proud to be offering an apprenticeship to a student from a local construction school, who will join the team as an apprentice site manager for the duration of the project. This not only supports skills development in the local community but also helps inspire the next generation of construction professionals.
