Leicester Museum

We’re proud to be delivering a transformative and conservation-sensitive project in partnership with Leicester City Council at the Leicester Museum & Art Gallery. Over the course of 60 weeks, our team is undertaking a full refurbishment and fit-out of six key galleries, breathing new life into the museum’s treasured historic interiors while upgrading functionality for contemporary exhibitions.

In recognition of the building’s heritage significance, much of our work is being carried out under heritage legislation. This includes meticulous restoration to the exterior brickwork and roof structure, as well as the careful strip-out of outdated internal systems. These heritage-sensitive works are being delivered with a focus on preserving architectural integrity while preparing the museum for future generations.

We’re also executing significant structural alterations to the front of the building to create a vibrant new café space, designed to enrich the visitor experience and support longer engagement with the venue. Additionally, major roof upgrades and the installation of bespoke Velux windows are being completed to introduce natural light and improve the building’s energy performance in line with modern sustainability goals.
