We recently completed a significant project at One New Change (ONC), London, which involved extensive refurbishments to accommodate Fairgame, a new tenant. The scope of work included consolidating six units into one, requiring the removal of party walls and the recladding of columns. This project was challenging due to the proximity of offices and a private boarding school, which necessitated the installation of an acoustic sound enclosure to minimize disruption.
The work involved major structural modifications, including the removal of a staircase in the former two-level gym and the installation of a steel deck in its place. Additionally, all electrical services were upgraded, with collaboration from UK Power.
Networks to ensure sufficient supply for the larger unit. The project required the removal and replacement of flooring, with a level screed and latex layer installed across the entire space. Temporary fire systems were set up, and a new automated door system was integrated with the fire alarm for safety.
Several logistical challenges were encountered, including working within a live building, managing waste disposal, and coordinating with other contractors. Despite these hurdles, the team successfully met stringent deadlines, including overnight concrete pours and night works for sprinkler installations. 7Formation is set to return in March to complete additional works, including the installation of new door sets.
